Continuiamo a raccontarvi i brani in gara all’Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Liar è la canzone con cui Silia Kapsis rappresenta il Cipro all’Eurovision Song Contest 2024, in scena a Malmö dal 7 all’11 maggio. Scopriamo insieme il testo e il significato del brano.
Liar è la storia di un tradimento che mette fine a una relazione: lei sapeva che lui era un bugiardo, ma si ostinava a fingere non fosse vero. Ora che ha preso consapevolezza della persona con cui condivideva la sua vita, non vuole più saperne, disillusa dall’idea di potere cambiare una persona sbagliata per lei.
La canzone si rivolge in realtà, nell’intento di Silia Kapsis, a tutte le persone finte che fanno del male ad altri dietro le spalle (anche attraverso body shaming) rivelandosi meschine.
La giovane cantante e ballerina cipriota (ha solo 17 anni), da poco anche attrice, porta così un brano pop dance con una forte influenza dello stile musicale del suo Paese. Le atmosfere balcaniche sono presenti anche nel ritornello, che è la parte decisamente più pop.
Video esplosivo, tanto chiasso, ma la melodia non entra in testa. Piuttosto deludente questa Liar, che anche per gli scommettitori non ha probabilità di vittoria.
